Our Range - Our Hand Cut Roofing Process

HAND CUT ROOFS

1. Consultation & Planning
Every project begins with a discussion about your requirements, design preferences, and structural needs. We assess architectural plans or existing structures to determine the best approach for your roof. Given the bespoke nature of hand-cut roofing, this stage is crucial for ensuring a seamless fit with the building.

2. Sourcing & Preparing Materials
We carefully select high-quality timber suited for strength, durability, and aesthetics. The type of wood used will depend on the specific requirements of the structure, and all materials are prepared to ensure optimal performance.

3. On-Site Measuring & Cutting
Unlike factory-made trusses, every component of a hand-cut roof is precisely measured and cut on-site. Our skilled craftsmen shape the rafters, purlins, ridge beams, and other structural elements to fit the exact specifications of your build. This flexibility allows us to accommodate unique roof designs, extensions, and renovations with ease.

4. Frame Assembly & Installation
Once the timbers are cut, they are assembled piece by piece to form the structural framework of the roof. Each joint is carefully crafted to ensure a secure fit, maximizing the strength and stability of the roof. This method is particularly beneficial for complex roof structures, irregular shapes, or buildings that require a custom approach.

5. Structural Checks & Reinforcements
Before moving on to the roof covering, we conduct a full structural check to ensure the frame is strong, secure, and properly aligned. Depending on the design, additional reinforcements such as collar ties or ridge supports may be added.

6. Roof Covering & Finishing Touches
Once the structure is complete, we install the chosen roofing material—whether tiles, slates, or another finish—to provide full protection against the elements. The finishing details, such as fascia's, soffits, and insulation, are then added according to the project’s specifications.
